Aikido Jacket – Aikido Gi (上衣・Uwagi)

The Aikido Jacket (Uwagi) is the upper part of the traditional keikogi worn in Japanese martial arts. Designed for budo training, it offers a loose and functional cut with reinforced shoulders and a durable build that supports circular movements, throws, and ground techniques. Our selection features authentic Japanese-made models from Kyoto and Osaka workshops.

Choosing Your Jacket: Single or Double Weave

Single weave: lighter and quick-drying — ideal for regular training or warm climates.
Double weave: thicker and more stable — perfect for intensive practice, seminars, or demonstrations.

Size & Fit Guide

Select your size according to your height (cm) and build. The jacket should cover the hips while allowing full shoulder mobility. When in doubt between two sizes, choose the larger one for comfort during taiso movements.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash at 30 °C, gentle spin. Wash dark colors separately.
• Avoid tumble drying; air dry in the shade to preserve fabric strength.
• Iron on low heat on the reverse side; do not iron over embroidered patches.
